Agent/Merchant Network Manager (Ghana)

Job description

The Retail Manager will be responsible for the execution of strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base in assigned locations. The job holder will be responsible for building and maintaining strong agent and merchant relationships, and day to day management of the sales & distribution team.

 The Retail Manager will be charged with but not limited to the following responsibilities

  • Onboard and train merchants/agents as possible in assigned area.
  • Coordinate for visibility & promotion of Palmpay and any new financial transaction services that the Company may offer the market.
  • Work to gain the respect and trust of merchants/agents, to help position Palmpay as a strategic business partner for key retailers.
  • Communicate with merchants/agents on behalf of Palmpay App regarding existing bugs and expected resolution times for fixes.
  • Build and maintain database of all merchants/agents in assigned areas
  • Manage the Merchant Onboarding process, including creation of, enhancements to and tracking of process to identify and sign new partnerships.
  • Responsible for understanding merchants/agents overall strategic goals and translating these into strategies for consumer acquisition, conversion and retention.
  • Work with marketing teams to ensure maximum visibility of the company in trade
  • Work with the team on determining the right pricing for customers and provide market intelligence on how to review.
  • Monitor performance and productivity of merchants/agents in assigned territory
  • Provide regular daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports focused on results.

 

 

Requirements

A business-related bachelor’s degree (or higher) preferably in Sales/Marketing from a recognized University. Master’s Degree is a plus

Over 4 years working experience in channel management of which 3 years must have been in executing mobile money agent management and customer acquisition.

  • Solid understanding of operations of digital payment systems/mobile money
  • Must have a strong sales and distribution background
  • Ability to work under pressure and flexible hours 
  • Preferably local candidates.
